Facebook Like button not showing – Simple Social Buttons

Simple Social Button uses Facebook’s like button plugin.

Facebook’s like plugin uses tracking methods in its like plugin which is used to generate the like button.

• If your browser’s tracking prevention is set to strict then the like button won’t show.
• If your browser’s tracking prevention is set to basic/Moderate then you will see the like button.

You can find these settings in your browser’s privacy settings.

What do the above lines mean?

• The browser blocks the majority of trackers if strict mode is enabled, causing the scripts not to run properly, which in this case is the Facebook script for the like button. The site doesn’t work as expected.
• The browser will allow the non-harmful and known script/s to run and the site will work as expected.

This issue is client-based, if one of your users doesn’t want to share the data and blocks the trackers to run, then like button scripts most likely will not run which cause it not to show.
